MONT-TREMBLANT — The Sûreté du Québec said Saturday it had arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run earlier in the day in Mont-Tremblant, about 160 kilometres north of Ottawa.
Emergency services were notified Saturday of the collision involving a pedestrian around 2 a.m. on Montée Ryan.
“According to initial information, a man in his 30s suffered serious injuries after being found on the ground. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead,” said Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, a spokesperson for the SQ.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, was quickly located and arrested.
The driver allegedly hit the pedestrian and continued without stopping, police said.
“He could face charges of hit-and-run causing death as well as driving a vehicle while impaired,” Marquis-Guy said.
The SQ’s major crimes section was continuing its investigation.
