Spanish insurer Mapfre SA’s reinsurance unit Mapfre Re saw premiums grow by nearly 6% year-on-year to over €4.3 billion ($4.6 billion) in the first half of this year, Reinsurance News reported. The reinsurer’s combined ratio reached 95.1%, supported by the recovery of tariffs, especially catastrophic covers.
