Why does the City insist on giving us a daily update? Other than informing us how much water we used the previous day, that there have been more wire snaps detected on the Bearspaw South Feedermain, that we remain in level 1 water restriction status and that they are analyzing the data from the pipe diver report, they don’t provide us with any new information.
Until they do so, the daily update is kinda moot.
So how about the City being real forthcoming and informing us that it is likely our water supply infrastructure is in dire shape and as a result much of it needs repairs and/or replacement? I’m sure most Calgarians would like to have a reasonable ongoing expectation of a dependable water supply, and that because of the enormous predicted costs (surprise, surprise) associated with the repairs and/or replacement, the City has decided to scrap the Green Line project for the immediate future so that money is available to ensure Calgary’s taps don’t run dry.

After almost two months of frustrating and inconvenient water restrictions, I think I know what Calgarians would consider a priority. Raising taxes again better not be on the Council’s table.

(Assuming this council thinks that far ahead is a leap.)
Don’t punish the players
Seems to me if the Canadian Women’s Soccer Team was caught cheating, those responsible should be immediately disbarred. The players shouldn’t be punished. The cheating was perpetrated against New Zealand so Canada’s win seems tainted and that victory should be disallowed. If they cheat again, they should be removed from competition. The six point subtraction seems an over reaction.
Mike Swann
(This just keeps getting worse for Soccer Canada.)
