The live auction – which raised $3M last year for victims of gender-based violence – is presented by the Kering Foundation run by the Oscar nominee’s husband of 15 years, Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault.
The 62-year-old French billionaire said in a statement last Thursday: ‘For women and children to be free to fulfill their potential unencumbered by the burdens of fear, threat, and trauma, it is paramount that we address violence at its roots to change behavior and heal our collective culture.’
Kering is a multinational corporation that owns luxury fashion brands Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, and Alexander McQueen.
