- Maniesh Paul first got a taste of being on stage when he hosted events at his school and later in college. His first big break was as the host of Sunday Tango on Star Plus in 2002.
- He did his schooling at Delhi’s Apeejay School in Sheikh Sarai and then pursued a bachelor’s degree in tourism from the College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University.
- Maniesh Paul made his OTT debut with heist comedy Rafuchakkar which was streamed on JioCinema. He played five characters in the series and lost 10 kilos within 3 weeks to fit the many roles.
- The 2013 comedy thriller Mickey Virus was his first film with a lead role. Parts of the film were shot in Delhi’s Nehru Place. In a Times of India interview he revealed, “I was feeling very nostalgic while shooting in Nehru Place, my dad’s office is there. I used to advise my crew on what to eat from where.”
- Before Mickey Virus he had made special appearances in films like Maruti Mera Dost, Tees Maar Khan, and ABCD: Any Body Can Dance.
- He changed his spelling from Manish to Maniesh on the advice of numerologist Sanjay Jumaani. The actor-host admitted that he noticed many positive changes in his life after changing the spelling despite being sceptical at first.
- Some of the most popular shows hosted by Maniesh Paul are Comedy Circus, Dance India Dance Li’l Masters, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and Science of Stupid.
- He married his long-term girlfriend Sanyukta Paul in 2007. They met in school and started dating in late 1998. They have two kids, a daughter born in 2011 and a son born in 2016.
- At 23, Maniesh Paul was an RJ at Radio City. He says that working as an RJ taught him scriptwriting and improved his speaking skills.
