If you somehow haven’t seen the video of the well-endowed French pole vaulter having his Olympic dreams shattered by his own penis, where you been quite frankly?
Anthony Ammirati, roared on by a noisy home crowd at the Stade de France, had hoped to get his hands on a medal but his dreams were in tatters after his manhood knocked the bar off while he attempted to clear 5.70m.
The 21-year-old had already sailed over two heights with relative ease before his bulge brought his campaign crashing to a halt – and he would finish 12th after posting a best height of 5.60m in Group A.
Armand Duplantis went on to make history in an incredible pole vault final, with the Swede clearing a jaw-dropping height of 6.25m to set a new world record. Remarkably, it was the ninth time he had broken the record in his career.
In the meantime, Ammirati has been hitting the headlines for very different reasons, making the most of his newfound fame despite his disappointing – and somewhat embarrassing – display in Paris.
Thankfully, it appears Ammirati sees the funny side of his unfortunate elimination and the Frenchman has become something of a social media star over recent days.
On his official TikTok page, Ammirati shared a video with his 27.6k followers poking fun at his own misfortune.
‘POV: you create more buzz for your package than for your performances,’ a message reads over the top of a clip of a blank-faced Ammirati eating his lunch in the athletes’ village.
In a caption beside the video, Ammirati joked: ‘I don’t know if I should take it well or not [crying laughing emoji] #olympics #paris2024.’
At the time of writing, the video has been liked over 500k times, with around 2,000 TikTok users giving their two cents in the comments section.
Shortly after his elimination, a ‘gutted’ Ammirati insisted he felt positive heading into the competition.
‘It’s a big disappointment. I’m a bit gutted, because I didn’t miss anything on the third attempt at 5.70m. What I did miss was a bit of jumping in training to fine-tune the settings, just a technical session,’ Ammirati told reporters.
‘I was 100 percent physically, but I was missing a bit of pole vault. The conditions were good. It’s the first time I’ve started a competition without any stress.
‘As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to interact with the audience. I was almost there.’
Earlier this week, it came to light that Ammirati had been offered a porn deal from CamSoda worth $250,000 off the back of his unlucky mishap at the Games.
‘If it was up to me, I’d award [Anthony Ammirati] for what everyone else saw, [his] talent below the belt,’ CamSoda’s vice president Daryn Parker told TMZ:
‘As a lover of crotch-centric activities, I’d love to offer you up to $250,000 in exchange for a 60-minute webcam show, in which you show off your goods, minus the crossbar, of course.’
