Shaun Kelly, a longtime excess and surplus lines industry executive, died Aug. 4.
Mr. Kelly, 61, spent 34 years in the insurance industry and most recently was president of distribution for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.’s global risk solutions division. He left the company in 2020.
Mr. Kelly joined American International Group Inc. in 1986 after graduating from the State University of New York at Oneonta, according to his official obituary.
He rose to become chief operating officer of AIG’s Boston-based surplus lines unit, Lexington Insurance Co. In 2008, he joined Ironshore Inc., a then-new E&S insurer headed by his longtime colleague Kevin Kelley, where he became CEO of its U.S. operations.
Liberty Mutual bought Ironshore in 2017.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Lisa, and three children.
