Trust is not always given lightly.
But trust in the sharing economy appears to be on the upswing, as a recent survey from Allianz Partners USA shows that more Americans than ever are likely to use sharing economy services while away from home this summer.
The survey showed that an all-time high of 53% of Americans signaled a desire to use sharing economy services – which includes things like ride-sharing apps and vacation rental stays – this summer.
Allianz also found that 65% of Americans consider those services to be trustworthy.
Both results were the highest reported in the history of the survey, according to Allianz.
“Whether Gen Z or a baby boomer, this year’s results spotlight how Americans’ loyalty to and trust in sharing-economy services are reaching unprecedented heights,” Daniel Durazo, director of external communications for Allianz, said in a statement.
When it comes to trust, age does seem to be a driving factor, with 78% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 34 on track to use shared services during their summer vacations compared with older generations.
About half of all travelers 55 and older who were surveyed reported feeling comfortable using shared services such as ride-sharing and private vacation rentals.
