Following endless speculation about Adele’s romance with Rich Paul, the singer has finally confirmed where they stand.
Dating, engaged, married… it seems to change from one day to the next, with rumours flying all over the place about their relationship status since they got together in 2021.
Adele, 36, has previously flippantly referred to Rich, 42, as her ‘husband’ and has also been seen flaunting jewellery that suspiciously resembles an engagement ring.
Now, though, the Hello hitmaker – who has dropped major hints about wanting another child – has clarified, telling fans at her latest concert that they are ‘getting married’ – so, congratulations are in order!
While on stage in Munich, Germany, Adele responded to an audience member who desperately wanted her hand in marriage.
Unfortunately for them, though, she’s no bigamist.
‘Will you marry me?’, their sign read.
Adele replied: ‘I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married.’
The packed crowd quickly erupted into cheers as Adele lifted up her hand to showcase her dazzling ring.
Swiftly moving on, the star kindly added that she ‘appreciated’ the offer, footage shared on social media captured.
After the video started doing the rounds, fans were keen to congratulate Adele and Rich, declaring them their ‘favourite couple’ and adding how ‘happy’ they were.
‘About time she admitted it, that rock on her finger was hard to miss!!’, joked X user katerafferty123.
‘SO HAPPY FOR HERRRR’, exclaimed chanarsbit.
Others joked that the powerhouse vocalist’s fans can quit hoping for a new album anytime soon, while noting that the guest list will be ‘insane’ for her big day.
However, there was also some confusion, understandably.
‘I thought they’ve been married for years’, wrote hollingsjerk, while ThatShyGirlErin added: ‘I thought she said she was married??’
ThaiCorreas echoed: ‘I thought they already were.’
While their relationship was initially kept pretty low-key, Adele has never made a secret of her love for Rich.
Although the pair has kept much of their relationship private, they have shared a few sweet details about their courtship over the years.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in November 2021, she shared: ‘I met him at a birthday party, we were on the dancefloor.
‘And then we met a couple of years later. We went out for dinner, which he says was a business meeting and I’m like, “A business meeting about what?” And then it was the first time we hung out on our own.’
In recent months while performing at her Las Vegas residency, Adele has continually referred to Rich as her hubby.
In September last year, Adele responded to one very enthusiastic concert-goer who screamed: ‘Will you marry me?’
The Rumour Has It hitmaker then told her: ‘You can’t marry me. I’m straight, my love, and my husband’s here tonight.
Not giving up so easily, the fan responded: ‘Can you try?’
Adele jokingly said back: ‘No, I don’t want to try. I’m with Rich. You’re crazy, leave me alone.’
Then, in November, fans reckoned Adele and Rich had already said ‘I do’ after she was seen sporting what looked to be a wedding band.
Around the same time, Adele swung by Alan Carr’s comedy show, where her Chatty Man bestie asked if anyone in the crowd had got married recently.
Two audience members claimed to gossip account Deuxmoi that Adele shouted: ‘I did!’
The British musician started dating the American sports agent after her divorce from Simon Konecki, 50, with whom she shares son Angelo, 11.
Adele and Simon were married from 2018 to 2021, having started dating in 2011.
Her divorce was a huge subject of her album 30 which, as the chronically online among you will remember, she proudly declared was about ‘divorce, babes, divorce.’
Speaking about her marriage breakdown, Adele confirmed the reason behind their split when she gave her most personal interview in 2021.
Touching on her split, Adele said: ‘It just wasn’t… It just wasn’t right for me anymore.
‘I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew.
‘I wasn’t miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first.’
