Texas schools may be starting, but August is turning up the heat!
As a heat dome settles over the Lone Star State, forecasters warn this week and next week are likely to be the hottest of 2024 so far. Large portions of the state are under heat advisories with triple-digit temperatures expected, and heat indices in some areas could reach into the 110s.
But Texans are no strangers to the heat, especially after record-high temperatures earlier this summer and no sign of a lasting cooldown in sight. So how does the Texas heat compare to other states? Here’s what the data reveals.
