However, it didn’t take Pete long to shake off the supposed injury as the pair then continued with their typical jokes and teasing.
Sam went on to take a swipe at Pete, pointing out: “You don’t look much like your Strictly picture”.
“Yeah it’s from five years ago, it’s from the calendar years,” Pete clapped back.
Pete’s place in the Strictly lineup was confirmed this week, with him becoming the first TOWIE star to ever step foot on the famous BBC ballroom floor.
The exciting news was revealed live on Kiss FM, with Pete saying: “It’s a mixture of excited and absolutely petrified, it’s fear, you can see straight into my soul.”
Pete will be joined by 14 other celebs turned budding ballroom dancers, including comedian Chris McCausland, JLS band member JB Gill, broadcaster Wynne Evans, singer Toyah Willcox, and Dr Punam Krishan.
As well as Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri, singer Shayne Ward, actress Sarah Hadland, Eastenders’ Jamie Borthwick, Olympic swimming champion Tom Dean MBE, and Gladiator Montell Douglas aka Fire.
The remaining contestants joining the new series will be announced in due course as well as the start date, which is expected to be around sometime in Autumn.
The upcoming series will also celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturdays.
