Antisemitism exists in Canada because we let it. It’s probably been around longer than we would like to admit. In the past, it was at a very low level and centred around graffiti and the odd acts of vandalism.
In the last year or so, antisemitism has escalated to levels that have shocked normal Canadians. There are numerous anti-hate laws in the criminal code and of course there are a like amount, maybe more, covering acts of violence against any and all persons.
Canada leans so far to the left it’s a wonder it doesn’t fall over! The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, regardless what the social justice warriors say, has its limitations. I believe it’s time for all levels of government to instruct their police services to utilize the criminal code as it was meant to be used.

LOOKED FORWARD TO HIS LETTERS
Re: YOU SAID IT: Flanagan’s farewell, letter to the editor, online, Aug. 3
Say it isn’t so! Retiring? Stephen Flanagan is my opinion “soulmate”. I always looked forward to his letters to the editor. What a guy! We will miss you.

HAPPY RETIREMENT
Re: YOU SAID IT: Flanagan’s farewell, letter to the editor, online, Aug. 3
It was so easy with the White Pages. All you needed was the last name, the first initial, and if you knew the area where the person lived, you could find the address.
Anyway, my plan was to send Stephen Flanagan a “retirement” card, but he’s nowhere to be found and there’s no way I’m going to “try again later”.
So, happy retirement Flanagan!

NOT JUST DABROWSKI
Re: Gab’s Fab headline, Ottawa’s Dabrowski wins bronze in mixed doubles in Paris, Aug. 3
I found the headline and picture caption on your Aug. 3 edition of the Ottawa Sun quite disrespectful. There should have been mention that Felix Auger-Aliassime was part of the doubles team.
