A businessman is being investigated by the Spanish Civil Guard after evidence found he had stolen more than 44 million cubic yards of water over 17 years to irrigate his 54-acre golf course. In footage released on August 10, officers were seen investigating the 15 illegal wells he used to steal the water which has caused an estimated $70 million worth of environmental damage.
