IF THAT’S WEIRD, I’M IN

Aside from the juvenility of name-calling by supposedly mature adults, the federal Liberals again illustrate their paucity of ideas and/or creative thinking. They are so bereft of any original thoughts, they now resort to importing insults from U.S. politicians.
Of course I refer to their resorting to use of the Democrats’ “weird” to describe Pierre Poilievre.
If common sense in Conservative fiscal policy and their other responses to the woes Justin has wrought upon the country, I certainly have no desire to be ordinary.
Aside from plagiarizing the American discourse, and while not endorsing use of insults, weird works — better than the worn-out, originality challenged Liberals.

NONSENSICAL LRT SERVICE CUTS

Re: More service cuts; Further cuts on way after reducing midday service, Aug. 6
I just can’t stop shaking my head. Only a government service would cite low O-Train usership and then turn around and cut services even further in hopes of getting more people to use it.
It’s summer, kids are out of school, people are going on holidays and the ever-present issue regarding public servants demanding to be allowed to “work” from home also affects ridership. Match that up with the fact that our transit system, and yes, I include bus service, is expensive and unreliable … so sure it makes sense to give taxpayers less service. It’s literally expected these days … pay more, get less … that’s government logic for you.
The second phase isn’t even running yet and I don’t see it getting any better. The whole LRT system was ill thought out considering our winters. We can thank the previous mayor and city council for this debacle. Watson for his rabid desire for a “legacy project” and city council for not having the guts to stand up to Watson.

TIME FOR A HUMAN TAKEOVER
I feel it is time for humans to overthrow the evil, robotic photo radar cameras. Surely we have tons of budding Yousuf Karsh amateur photographers who would love to take a picture of your car going 200 m.p.h. in a 50 zone before it crashes. Maybe they could autograph the photo and it might increase in value when they get famous like the great Mr. Karsh.
