- Dunk City Dynasty is back from a brief hiatus after its first announcement
- The three-on-three street basketball game will hit iOS and Android in 2025
- Pre-registrations for the upcoming closed alpha are now open
NetEase has announced that Dunk City Dynasty, the first NBPA-licenced street basketball game, is set to arrive in 2025. Well, we say announced but those of you with a good memory will remember that Dunk City Dynasty was originally revealed way back in 2023, but it seems the game has either come back from the dead or is finally ready to be pushed out into the world proper.
As for street basketball, you may wonder why the game is themed around that. Well, as I said above, those of you with a good memory will remember when ‘street’ versions of sports were a popular subject for games. NBA Street, for example, also took the three-on-three concept and focus on style and execution to its natural end-point with follow-ups like NFL and FIFA Street.
Whether Dunk City Dynasty can live up to that legacy and bring the excitement of three-on-three basketball to the palm of your hand remains to be seen. But if you’re curious to give it a try during its upcoming closed Alpha test from August 30th to September 2nd, you can pre-register on the Dunk City Dynasty website.
King of the court
While Dunk City Dynasty may not entirely be the throwback to the old street-style sports games of the past, it does look to offer a more stylish entry into the world of basketball games. Whether or not its FTP nature detracts from that remains to be seen.
