Weeks after a Regina man was attacked with a “large, bladed weapon,” Regina city police have arrested the man they believe was responsible.
Late at night on June 28, officers were called to the area around the 4100 block of Fifth Avenue after receiving a report of a weapons offence.
A man told police he had been attacked by a stranger with a weapon, and his assailant had fled. The man was hospitalized with “severe injuries,” and police began looking for the attacker.

On July 28, officers arrested and charged a 33-year-old Regina man with attempted murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
“At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a bladed weapon,” police said in a news release on Thursday.
He made his first appearance in provincial court at the end of July.
