- Vampire Survivors has shadow-dropped a new update overnight
- The Darkasso update features a whole new level, nine achievements and two skins
- There’s also the new Darkanas to help you explore the 16 rooms
Vampire Survivors developer Poncle has once more pulled a fast one on us. This time by shadow-dropping a new update in the middle of the night! Weird, right? Well, it certainly fits what’s being added in the new Darkasso update, so let’s dig in.
First off, a whole new level! And Room 1665 certainly lives up to the dark moniker, described as “A hellish meat-dimension created by the spite of the souls that fell in the bone zone,” it features 16 rooms for you to battle your way through. Fortunately, you’ll have the new Darkanas to help you, with five of these special modifiers available to find.
On the flip side, we’ve also got nine new achievements added, and two new skins with Unblinded Imelda and Retired Poe. According to Poncle, you’ve been asking for darker, grittier content for a while now, but like they say, “Be careful what you wish for.”
Where’s the vampires?!
I’ve always liked Vampire Survivors, even when it straddles the line between absurdity and genuinely enthralling content. As I noted way back during their crossover with the Konami series Contra, I feel there’s always a conscious decision to try and subvert expectations with what’s being added to the game.
Still, whether there’s a joke or something hidden under the hood, more content to blast your way through is always fun. You can find the Darkasso update an all platforms, today!
