Blue Lock officially unveils the title and key visuals for its much-anticipated second season. Titled “Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan,” the upcoming season is set to premiere on October 5 in Japan.
The newly released key visual captures the tension of the upcoming season, featuring the series’ protagonist, Yoichi Isagi, as he dribbles up the pitch alongside his teammate and captain, Rin Itoshi. They face off against Japanese soccer prodigy Sae Itoshi and a mysterious new player, Oliver Aiku. This 14-episode season will center around the crucial match between Blue Lock and the U-20 Japan team, where the future of the Blue Lock project hangs in the balance.
Alongside the key visual, the new U-20 uniforms for the Blue Lock team were revealed, highlighting both returning characters and fresh faces. Fans will see the strikers of Team Z, along with allies and rivals made throughout the First and Second Selection, donning their new gear as they prepare for the biggest match of their lives. The upcoming season also introduces new characters whose skills and egos have yet to be unleashed on the field.
The returning voice cast includes Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi, Koki Uchiyama as Rin Itoshi, Tasuku Kaito as Meguru Bachira, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Seishiro Nagi, among others. Behind the scenes, the production team is led by General Director Yuji Haibara and Director Shintaro Inokawa. The series composition and screenplay are handled by Taku Kishimoto, with character design by Kenji Tanabe, who also serves as Chief Animation Director alongside Tomoko Mori and Sorato Shimizu. The animation is produced by Eight Bit, with the production overseen by the Blue Lock Production Committee.
