Lucy Fallon is preparing to welcome her second baby. The Coronation Street star, who plays Bethany Platt in the long running ITV soap, made a sweet announcement on social media.
Posting a clip to her 570,000, which she captioned “half way there”, she showed herself and her partne Ryan Ledson playing with their son Sonny Jude. The clip then shows her cradling her growing baby bump as the track To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra plays.
Sonny can then be seen smiling and looking at the ultrasound scan as the clip cuts to a pregnancy test showing a positive result. Her co-stars past and present were delighted for the couple and flooded her comments with well wishes and heart emojis.
Tina O’Brien, who plays her on screen mum Sarah Louise Platt had no words simply posting three heart based emojis to convey her love for her co-star. Liam McCheyne, who plays wayward teen Dylan Wilson, commented with three heart emojis.

Last year’s Strictly Come Dancing winner and cobbles alum Ellie Leach simply squealed: “OMG !!!!!!!!” accomapnied by five heart emojis.
Former Corrie star Helen Flanagan also chimed in writing: ” Love you Lucy xxx.”
The happy news comes after the 28-year-old teared up on the reality show Drama Queens earier this year as she recounted her miscarriage hell. She admitted she and Ryan went through the ordeal in 2022.
“We went for the first scan and I didn’t expect that anything would be wrong and [the nurse] told us that there was no heartbeat. That the baby had died,” she said.
Later that year, Lucy fell pregnant again and the couple welcomed Sonny, now one, in January 2023.
That pregnancy wasn’t without its issues as she suffered painful Braxton-Hicks contractions in the run up to the birth.
The “practice contractions” were so bad she even issued a plea to her fans for help on her Instagram Stories.
She asked her followers: “Why are my Braxton-Hicks painful? Do any of you know? Am I just pathetic?”
What Lucy’s happy news means for her character in the soap is as yet unknown. Bethany is currently embroiled in a huge storyline following the disappearance, and subsequent reappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Her abuser Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) is currently in jail awaiting trial for his alleged part in the teen’s exit. However the net is closing in on the real culprit Joel Deering (Calum Lill) meaning that Nathan could be back on the street tormenting Bethany any day now.
