Hit ARPG, and perennial feature of YouTube Sponsorships, Raid: Shadow Legends is making another major addition to its roster. From August 21st to October 24th, you’ll be able to acquire the new characters Loki The Deceiver, Thor Faehammer, Odin Faefather and Freya Fateweaver as your newest legendary champions.
The Asgard Divide event sees Loki trying to free the world of Teleria from the interference of Gods. To do that, he intends to awaken the Fire Knight to unfreeze the Waters of Life, which would bring about a power struggle that would destroy them. Naturally, this doesn’t cut it for the rest of the gods, so at Odin’s behest, you’ll join Thor in trying to thwart Loki’s plan.
Loki can be acquired as part of a 14-day loyalty event, while Thor is available in a Mixed Fusion event from September 6th to 20th. Freyja and Odin, meanwhile, can be obtained via shards during the Asgard Divide event. There’s also a limited-time dungeon where – spoiler alert – Odin will serve as a boss.
Norse legends
Apparently, this latest round of champions is part of Raid’s new strategy going forward. This means we can probably expect a lot more mythological or pseudo-historical characters, which might put off those of you who’re here for the fantasy setting. But if it works it works, I guess, but we’ll just have to wait and see exactly how far they push the envelope with it.
