A medal may have eluded Team Canada at the Paris Olympics, but not on Sunday in Saskatoon.
The Canadian three-on-three team — made up of homegrown Saskatchewan product Paige Crozon along with Katie Bosch and twins Katherine Plouffe and Michelle Plouffe — prevailed in the Bridge City with a convincing 21-7 victory over the Americans in the final.
Canada went undefeated in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series stop in Saskatoon thanks to the win over Dallas 3XBA in the championship game. The event was part of the YXE Urban Games held in Victoria Park.

Where regular baskets count for one point and not two, and buckets scored from beyond the arc are good for two points, Crozon nailed three long-range ‘twos’ down the stretch to help Canada pull away.
A two-pointer by Michelle Plouffe proved to be the clincher as Canada reached the win with 21 points.
Katherine Plouffe, who entered the final as the No. 2 rated player during the tournament behind only Sarah Polleros of Germany’s Heidelberg squad, was named the most valuable player for the Saskatoon stop.
Canada also defeated the U.S. team from Dallas 21-11 in the final at Edmonton earlier this season.
The Canadians reached the medal round at the Paris Olympics but lost a heartbreaker in the final seconds to Germany during the semifinal and then fell to Team U.S.A. in the bronze-medal game.
In the Saskatoon final, Crozon led Canada with eight points, to go along with two highlight-value points. Michelle Plouffe totalled 12.2 for a player-value score thanks to seven points, two rebounds and three highlight points. Katherine Plouffe added five points, three rebounds and one highlight, while Bosch chipped in with one point, two rebounds and one highlight rating.

During round-robin play in Saskatoon, Crozon had eight points, seven rebounds and six highlight points for a 13.5 top player value score against Singapore.
