Austrian authorities said that heavy rains hit the country’s Alpine region and flooded parts of Vienna on Aug. 17, causing major damage as well as disrupting road and rail transport, Reuters reported citing ORF. Weather data firm Ubimet said a large proportion of Vienna’s average summer rainfall hit in just one hour.
