M. Deepika, superintendent of police in Anakapalli district of India’s Andhra Pradesh, said a major explosion on Aug. 21 at pharmaceutical firm Escientia Advanced Sciences Pvt Ltd.’s manufacturing unit has claimed the lives of at least 15 people, Reuters reported. The fire also injured nearly 40 people at the site.
