Faulkner is currently subject to several release conditions, including that he is not to be in the presence of any children under the age of 16 unless accompanied by an adult who has been approved by his parole supervisor.
Police said Faulkner is “at an elevated risk of re-offending” and his activities within the community will be monitored.
“Members of the public are reminded that although Joesph Faulkner does present a safety risk to the public, his rights are guaranteed under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms Act,” police said, explaining they issued the rare public advisory “as a precautionary measure.”
Police issued a similar warning to the public when Faulkner was released from custody in Mississauga on April 2, 2023, after serving time for a number of sex crimes.
But the “high-risk” sex offender was back in custody within a month for alleged theft and breaches of his release conditions.
Police are once again urging members of the public to “use caution if they encounter Faulkner.”
“Parents should be mindful of their children’s activities and aware of the individuals they associate with,” police said.
