Windsor police arrested 24 people during a two-day community safety operation in a neighbourhood just east of the city’s downtown core.
In a joint effort to address residents’ safety concerns at apartment buildings in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue — the location of several public housing complexes — the Windsor police Problem-Oriented Policing Unit teamed up with the Windsor-Essex Community Housing Corporation on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“Our team conducted proactive patrols to support the safety of these residents and meet the needs of our downtown community.”
Over the course of the two-day campaign, police say law enforcement arrested 24 individuals, resulting in 48 charges and the execution of 10 outstanding arrest warrants.
Among the charges laid included six counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, two counts of arson, eight counts of theft under $5,000, five counts of failure to comply with a court release order, and four counts of failure to comply with conditions of probation.
