The Alabama Farmers Federation is sponsoring a bipartisan campaign school Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Alfa Insurance Co. home office, 2108 E. South Blvd., in Montgomery.
Known for its grassroots expertise, the Federation has held several such schools in the past resulting in the election of state senators and representatives; judges; city and county officials; and constitutional officers.
“This school provides ethics training and the tools necessary to organize a campaign with strong grassroots efforts and effective strategies,” said Federation Director of Organization Matthew Durdin. “It teaches potential candidates the necessary steps to ensure a successful campaign, and it helps veteran officeholders evaluate and assess the strengths and weaknesses of past campaign efforts.”
The program will feature award-winning speakers with extensive experience in the political arena at all levels of government. Attendees will hear from elected officials of both parties along with some of the state’s leading political consultants.
“What this Campaign School taught me when I attended was instrumental in my success as a candidate,” said Alabama State Rep. Susan Dubose, R-Hoover. “I am glad I attended because the strategies and expert testimonies provided gave me insights into a successful campaign.”
Registration is required and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so candidates should register early. The registration fee of $25 is used to cover the cost of food and materials. Registration ends Sept. 24 at noon. Registered attendees will receive an email confirmation.
