Waka Flocka’s Donald Trump Remark Takes Internet By Storm—’Let’s Be Clear’

Rapper Waka Flocka Flame is still standing by his decision to vote for former President Donald Trump in November’s election.

The 38-year-old, whose given name is Juaquin James Malphurs, took to X, formerly Twitter to remind people of his political leanings.

“I’m stilling voting for Trump!!!! Let’s be clear!!!!!” he wrote on Monday in a post that went viral with more than 2.5 million views at the time of writing.

It was not clear what prompted the hip-hop star to post the reminder, but he is one of many Black celebrities and artists to speak out in support of the Republican nominee who is making his third run at the White House.

Newsweek contacted Flocka’s representatives by email for comment.

Flocka, who recently performed at a Pokemon trading card convention, has long thrown his support behind Trump, publicly declaring it as far back as 2020.

People reacted to his reminder in the replies of Flocka’s post.

“Thank you very much, Waka. Please make sure everyone you know is registered to vote. Waka, if you know anyone in Pennsylvania, please especially work on them. Pennsylvania wins the White House,” replied @scottpresler.

“Who cares? You’re an irrelevant has-been. Trump would rather get sued by real musical artists for using their music unpermitted than use yours,” wrote @widowedjoo.

The rapper made headlines in July when he asked people to leave his live show if they were planning on voting for then-presumptive Democratic nominee, President Joe Biden. The president ended up stepping down from the White House race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who last week won their party’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She will be running for president on a ticket with Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz.

In a video posted to X at the time, Flocka can be seen telling fans during the gig at Club Sky in Salt Lake City, “All Joe Biden voters can get out. See ya!”

“We’re gonna party right now for T24,” Flocka added, dedicating his hit “It’s A Party” to Trump.

Flocka also reinforced his voting intentions in a series of X posts earlier this month.

“Trump still my president I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice like I choose not to eat pork but do that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character…nor will I act like…” he wrote on August 1.

And a few moments later added, “Politics my m o … I just want my rights. My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on but hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening.”
