Live updates: Panthers vs Rabbitohs
4′ Cody Walker throws forward pass
Tyrone Munro
dives over in the corner as the Rabbitohs test the Panthers’ right edge.
But the pass out the hands of Cody Walker went forward and it’s correctly called back.
Kick off: We’re underway in Penrith
The Panthers have got things moving and have a good first set, making plenty of metres against this makeshift Souths line up.
There are some Fox’s in the house!
Jess and Noémie Fox are in the house!
Three Olympic gold medals between those two.
Read about how the third of those came about, below.
Latrell Mitchell controversy rumbles on for Rabbitohs
Well, that’s not what the Rabbitohs want us to believe.
The club said that they “are confident” his $40,000 fine and one-match ban after being pictured with white powder will be “a turning point for Latrell and that he will make better decisions in the future,” according to chief executive Blake Solly.
The NRL confirmed Mitchell will serve his one-match ban only when fully fit, finalising its investigation more than two weeks after a photo emerged on social media that depicted the 27-year-old leaning over a white powder.
Mitchell will pay $20,000 in NRL-imposed fines and $20,000 up-front to the Rabbitohs, with an additional suspended $80,000 fine to be triggered if he reoffends.
He will also be required to undertake training programs with the NRL’s wellbeing and education department, and adhere to a wellbeing program mandated by the Rabbitohs.

Panthers vs Souths team news
The Panthers can clinch a top four spot with a win in Penrith tonight after that earlier score.
One late change for the Panthers, with Liam Henry starting prop and Moses Leota switching to the bench.
Matt Eisenhuth has also been added to the bench.
Sunia Turuva and Paul Alamoti come into the backline, with Daine Laurie and Casey McLean making way.
Mitch Kenny returns from suspension to push Luke Sommerton out of the side.
For Souths, Cody Walker returns from concussion protocols at halfback, but the Bunnies will be without captain Cameron Murray, who failed to have a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge downgraded at the judiciary on Tuesday night.
Jacob Host comes into the second row in his place, with Liam Le Blanc starting on the bench.
Full time: Injury to Tom Trbojevic ruins Manly’s perfect night
Manly could clinch a home final if they beat the Sharks next week – and if they play like that, they will be almost unbeatable.
What a performance from the Sea Eagles, beating the Bulldogs 34-22 in front of over 35,000 at the Olympic stadium.
Only a late injury to Turbo Tom Trbojevic and an ankle sprain to Jason Saab put a dampener on what was a superb night.
80′ Reed Mahoney scores a consolation
He opened the scoring without Manly having touched the ball.
And Reed Mahoney will have the final say in this game as well, finishing off a multi-pass move from the Bulldogs from inside their own half.
Addo-Carr kicked the ball inside after the ball made its way to the left, and Mahoney gathered to score.
The kick is good.
It will likely finish 34-22, with just 21 seconds on the clock.
78′ Tom Trbojecvic to miss weeks with AC injury
Oh this is bad news for Manly.
Fox Sports are reporting that Trbojevic will need to undergo scans after suffering an AC joint injury.
He did pass his HIA.
He is on the bench out in the open now, but looks pretty downbeat about everything and is still favouring his arm.
69′ The Bulldogs score!
Toby Sexton connects with Jacob Preston, who sprints through a gap and dives over.
There’s 11 minutes left…
The kick is missed, unfortunately for the Bulldogs.
The gap is 18 points, 34-16.
Surely not…
65′ Tom Trbojevic is down and bleeding, profusely
It was making the tackle on Jacob Preston.
But despite how dramatic the blood looks, it’s not what is worrying everyone, because he’s holding his right elbow.
Luke Brooks landed on him as he made the tackle…
And he’s walking straight off.
There is blood all over his face and neck to be honest, so he’d be going off anyway.
But he is cradling that elbow/shoulder in a worrying way.
62′ BANG!
What a shot from
Haumole Olakau’atu!
He has put Kurtis Morrin onto his back with a perfectly timed hit in midfield.
Reed Mahoney is blowing up (but noticeably does not want a bit of the giant figure of Olakau’atu, who is looming over him, taking his grievances to the referee).
But that wasn’t an illegal hit, it was perfect, under the ball and onto the chest of Morrin.
Morris is going off for an HIA.
And we’ve just had word that Burton will not return from his Category 2 HIA.
60′ DCE with the intercept!
The intercept master Daly Cherry-Evans speeds into the line and steals a pass as the Bulldogs move the ball left.
Too easy for Daly Cherry-Evans and he gets the Sea Eagles away from trouble.
59′ Brooks fortunate to avoid a sin bin!
Oh Luke Brooks is a lucky boy, I think.
He is on report for a dangerous lifting tackle that sees Jacob Preston upended onto his head.
I really think that’s the sort of tackle that should be punished with a sin bin to be honest.
Attendance is 35,502
That’s a record for a 6pm Friday night crowd at this venue.
52′ Try! Reuben Garrick!
Easy as you like from the Sea Eagles!
They move the ball left.
They move the ball right.
Daly Cherry-Evans passes to Garrick on the outside shoulder of Bronson Xerri, who cannot get to the Sea Eagle who dives over!
Garrick misses – his first blemish of the night off his own score.
It remains 34-12.
52′ Matt Burton is off for an HIA
He’ll be off the field for at least 15 minutes and that could be terminal for the Bulldogs chances in this match.
49′ Lehi Hopoate! What a try!
The teenager shows some of the fanciest feet you’ll see on the left side.
It came after Josh Curran coughed up the ball coming out of his own 20 thanks to a strip from Luke Brooks.
Then the ball was spun left to the 19-year-old, playing his 11th NRL game, who beats three Bulldogs to score in the corner.
The kick is amazing from the sideline!
Meanwhile, Trbojevic is getting strapped up in the backfield…
It’s 30-12!
The Bulldogs have not conceded 30 points all year!
47′ Daly Cherry-Evans with the 40-20!
Oh what a kick! The Queenslander has hammered that ball deep and Connor Tracey does all he can but can’t keep the ball from going out.
I think he might have stopped the 40:20 on a technicality because he fumbled it over the line, but that takes nothing away from the quality and brilliance of the kick.
Manly has the ball on the Bulldogs 10 but the Doggies defend nicely to keep them out.
47′ Keep an eye on Trbojevic
Tom Trbojevic took a high bomb from Burton but didn’t look comfortable at all running it back – very ginger.
