My favourite case of the past few years is a leather one I had on my Pixel 7 Pro. Therefore, when the Pixel 9 came out, I knew I wanted another Bellroy leather case for it.
That said, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the Bellroy Pixel 9 cases don’t feature a magnetic ring, but after finding out that Google only sells one case for the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, I decided to see if the Bellroy Pixel 9 Pro case would fit on the regular Pixel 9, and guess what: it’s perfect. This also explains why the Bellroy Pixel 9 case costs less than the 9 Pro version. This is actually a nice option since it means if you have a Pixel 9 or 9 Pro you can get the standard case if you don’t want to use magnetic accessories and it will save you a few bucks.
First of all, I have the Peony Pixel 9 and the Lilac Bellroy leather Pixel 9 Pro case looks insanely good on the pink phone. Beyond that, having a magnetic ring makes it a lot easier to charge the device wirelessly and use accessories like magnetic wallets, phone stands, and batteries. It’s kind of crazy how convenient magnets in a phone make it, but once I moved to a MagSafe iPhone years ago I always miss connecting my wallet to my phone when I review Android devices.
If magnets aren’t really your thing, you can get the standard Pixel 9 Bellroy leather case for $59, and it comes in Black, Mint, and a really nice brown leather colour called Terracotta.
If you want magnets on a Pixel 9, or 9 Pro, the Bellroy 9 Pro case costs $75 and comes in all the same colours, plus the stunning Lilac I’m using. Bellroy also makes magnetic leather cases for the Pixel 9 Pro Xl and those ones cost $79 and include a super fun Ruby Red shade that I like a lot. Other options include Terracotta, Black and Simply Taupe which is a lighter beige colour.Â
you can check out all of the comapny’s Pixel cases here. However, take note that only the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL feature magnets.
