Veteran Vancouver songwriter Veda Hille introduces her new six-piece ensemble on the same night that one of the city’s institutions returns, as P:ano (featuring local heroes Nicholas Krgovich and Kellarissa) will celebrate their first new album in 19 years with a hometown show.

All hail Anciients! It’s been eight years since the proggy Vancouver metal band released Voice of the Void in 2016 and took home a JUNO Award. Now, following a lineup change and some difficult years in their personal lives, they’re finally back with an album that, as vocalist Kenny Cook recently told Exclaim!, reflects a theme of “perseverance.”
