Hip-hop and pop artist King brought his new album Monopoly Moves to Mumbai on the closing date of his launch tour for the full-length on Aug. 31 at Dublin Square in Phoenix Marketcity.
Pegged as a grand finale that came just as the artist was drawn into crossfire with Mumbai rap star Emiway Bantai, King’s Monopoly Moves Listening Party Tour brought to the stage the album’s featured artists, including MC Stan on “F*ck What They Say,” Yashraj for “Suits & Streets,” Abhijay Sharma on “Still The Same” and MC Heam on “Saza.”
The tour kicked off in New Delhi with a similar star-studded affair ascending the stage, with the likes of Badshah, Seedhe Maut, Ikka, Gravity and more joining King on stage on Aug. 2. The tour also had stops along the way in Bengaluru (Aug. 4), Dehradun (Aug. 9), Ahmedabad (Aug. 11), Indore (Aug. 17), Kolkata (Aug. 24) and Hyderabad (Aug. 30) before wrapping up in Mumbai.
King’s setlist in Mumbai also included Monopoly Moves songs like “Pyaar Humara,” “Delulu Dance” and more. The artist says in a statement about closing the tour in Mumbai, “Delhi gave me the chance to become an artist, but Mumbai gave me the fame. Starting this tour in Delhi, I knew it had to end in Mumbai. Now, on the last leg in the city of dreams that made me who I am, I’m ready to hit the road again soon. King’s clan, we did it!”
