- Pokémon-esque creature battler Coromon is getting a new spin-off with Coromon: Rogue Planet
- It takes the action to a variety of changing biomes with random events
- This roguelike game promises to contain the same top creature-battling mechanics that made the original such fun
Tactical monster battler Coromon is set to receive a new spin-off-sequel in the form of roguelike Coromon: Rogue Planet as Tragsoft returns to the series. This new game will be coming to Steam, Switch and most importantly for us, iOS and Android. We gave the original Coromon a positive review when Shaun Walton got to grips with this spiritual successor to the Pokémon series. So what’s there to expect from Rogue Planet? Let’s dig in.
Set in the wilds of Velua, Coromon: Rogue Planet will see you do the same as the original as you collect and battle your monsters with others. However, this time around you’ll be exploring a constantly-changing map, taking on Crimsonite bosses and coping with a variety of random events that makes every journey different.
Coromon: Rogue Planet is confirmed to be arriving in 2025, however we don’t yet have a specific release date to share. But you can check out the trailer below to get a hint of the fun, immersive world you’ll be exploring, as well as the dangers you’ll also be facing down.
Coromon
I admit, I was never a huge Pokémon fan, but I do appreciate there’s a great number of people who really want a game that revives the old-school charm. And given that the lacklustre graphics and development of the newer games in the Pokéseries have gotten it in the neck, Coromon very much has a relatively large niche to exploit with its colourful pixel graphics.
