It was another dramatic end for the University of Windsor Lancers’ football team.
Rallying from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter, the No. 6-ranked Lancers rallied for an 18-15 win over the Carleton Ravens on Saturday.
Kicker Brady Lidster’s 55-yard field goal as time expired helped the Lancers improve to 2-0 just a week after the team used a late-game interception to hold off Queen’s to open the season.

“We’re finding ways to pull out some close games and that’s going to serve us well going forward,” Lancers’ head coach J.P. Circelli said. “Credit to our guys for picking it up and overcoming a 15-point deficit. Those games, in the past, we would lose and now we’re finding ways to win, but there’s a lot of stuff to clean up.”
Quarterback Corson Roy came off the bench to spark the comeback. Roy’s one-yard touchdown run, that Lidster converted, got Windsor on the board. Running back Christopher John’s two-yard touchdown run and Roy’s two-point convert pass to Colby Ginn tied the game with just over four minutes to play.
With time running out, the Lancers moved 22 yard in three plays covering 20 seconds to set the stage for the winning kick by Lidster, whose previous long field goal was 48 yards.
“(Lidster) drilled it,” Circelli said. “It nice to have that in your back pocket.”
Saints still perfect
It was a short game for the St. Clair Saints on Sunday.
The Saints rolled to a 58-0 road win over the GTA Grizzlies in Brampton in Ontario Football Conference play that was called in the third quarter when the opposition ran short of players.
