- Ozymandias takes you back to the ancient world to seek continental domination
- Explore a fast-paced 4x game where every turn matters
- Complete matches against AI or human players in only one and-a-half hours
Out now, Ozymandias is a new, fast-paced (for a 4x game) strategy title that’s just hit storefronts. Promising to offer tough choices and the ability to play in both single and multiplayer, you can grab Ozymandias for $2.79. Not convinced? Let’s dig in and find out what it has to offer.
Set in the bronze age across the Mediterranean, Europe and the Middle East, you’ll take control of a variety of historical civilizations. If you’ve played Civ, you’ll know what to expect, as you expand, conquer, explore and build to dominate your opponents and become the preeminent civilization of the bronze age.
As I said, Ozymandias is fast-paced for a 4x with matches lasting around one-and-a-half hours. Each turn will give you choices to make as you duke it out between 52 civilizations and eight maps in order to complete random victory conditions and win the game.
4x simplified
I think one gripe I, and many others, have with games like Civilization is that the scope can be overwhelming even by 4x standards. Good then, that Ozymandias concentrates on a narrower period of time and a smaller number of players relatively speaking. While an hour-and-a-half may seem ridiculous, for 4x players it’s merely a blink in the eye. So is Ozymandias the new 4x game for you? You’ll just have to play it to find out!
