As we head into the fall months, The Sims 4 will be exploring the scary subject matter of life and death. Electronic Arts shared a news post on Thursday that reveals up coming kits, events, and the next expansion for the life simulator game. Life and Death will be an expansion pack that centers around the mortality and afterlife of our beloved Sims, and we can expect the return of the Grim Reaper for such an occasion.
Two new kits are set to release on Sept. 19: the Artist Studio Kit and the Storybook Nursery Kit. The first kit is for creative Sims who love to write, paint, or sculpt; it will provide new items to spruce up a studio. The second kit is for those who like to indulge in raising their baby Sims, giving them elaborate and sophisticated nurseries.
There will also be free items available via the Reaper’s Rewards event. The Reaper’s Rewards event will come to the base game on Sept. 24. We’re not sure what that event entails, but it will lead up to the reveal of the Life and Death expansion pack on Oct. 3 before it releases in full on Halloween.
The Sims 4 is a decade old, but Electronic Arts is still releasing various packs to round out elements of the game. This will likely be the only Sims game on our plate for some time; The Sims 5, also known as Project Rene, is still relatively early in development.
Right now, Sims can pass on, haunt their old homes, and even come back to life through a few rare and esoteric methods. We’ll have to see how Life and Death expands on that cycle, but hopefully it allows me to spend some more one-on-one time with the Grim Reaper — he seems like a cool dude.
