Jennifer Lopez looked incredible at the world premiere of her latest movie, Unstoppable, where she reportedly spoke with Matt Damon.
The film was produced by estranged husband Ben Affleck, who she filed to divorce, just over two weeks ago, and his close friend Matt, 53 – the Hollywood besties’ own company Artists Equity who put out the title. The latter attended the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival event at Roy Thomson Hall.
Matt and Jennifer are said to have spoken for over twenty minutes at the afterparty, which took place in the EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton.
‘Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation,’ a source told People. They added that at some points they clasped hands, as well as laughed together.
She also spoke with co-star Bobby Cannavale, and in a video posted on The Hollywood Reporter’s TikTok she tells him: ‘I’m a bad picker’ before laughing. The phrase is often used to describe being unsuccessful at selecting the right romantic partners.
For her first major public appearance since filing for divorce, J-Lo proved she’s always going to be the GOAT when it comes to creating memorable red-carpet looks that will get people talking.
The 55-year-old wore a floor-length silver dress that glistened under the red carpet spotlights.
Designed by Tamara Ralph, it was completely open at the sides but held together by four strategically placed black bows.
To complete the look, Jennifer lifted herself way off the ground with a pair of strappy silver shoes and carried a mirrored clutch bag.
Unstoppable is the inspiring true-life story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg but worked tirelessly to ensure his dreams came true. The inspiration also serves as a producer and a stunt double on the title.
The biopic focuses on the bond between Anthony, played by Jharrel Jerome, and his mother Judy, portrayed by Jennifer.
A source told the Daily Mail, she was happy to attend the promotional event, despite what is going on in her personal life as ‘Unstoppable means a lot to her’.
‘She wants to support it,’ they added.
‘The movie has been getting a lot of attention and Jennifer wants it to do the best it can. She is very professional and always works hard to give her movies their best opportunities.’
Unstoppable has been well-received, with a standing ovation at the showing and an Oscar buzz beginning to take shape.
Ben, 52, is among 14 producers on the film, and he was not in attendance at the premiere amid the divorce proceedings.
This was the second time Jennifer and Ben attempted to make their romance work. They were first engaged in the early 2000s after meeting on the set of the crime comedy film Gigli. However, the relationship ended just before their wedding, with decades passing before they reconciled in 2021. Now, they’ve split again bringing Bennifer 2.0 to a definitive end.
Jennifer filed for divorce on the second anniversary of the second ceremony – August 20 – which they held in Georgia and followed their initial wedding service in Las Vegas just two months before that.
While the Unstoppable celebration was Jennifer’s first official appearance, she has been very active on the ‘gram which has not gone unnoticed.
However, Jennifer – who has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony and is stepmother to Ben and his former wife Jennifer Garner’s kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel – has not directly addressed anything to do with their split.
