- Miniclip has released their latest sports-based game, Soccer Hero
- Promising a mix of arcadey card collecting and strategic depth, it’s out now on iOS and Android
- Soccer Hero also offers dynamic stadiums and synergies between cards for even more challenge
Top Flash Game site turned mobile developer Miniclip has released its newest sports-based game. This time around fans of the beautiful game will be pleased, as they tackle football with the newly-released Soccer Hero for iOS and Android. It promises to be easy to jump in and play, but does it deliver? Let’s find out!
Gameplay-wise, Soccer Hero is exactly as you’d expect from Miniclip’s usual sports-based fare. You get a relatively straightforward, arcadey mix of strategy and sim where you pit players with varying stats against each other, planning out your moves before watching them play out.
While it may not satisfy simulation fanatics, Soccer Hero promises to offer a bit more depth than other, more gamified football titles. You’ll be able to build your own team of original players, and compete in PvP matches, collecting cards and merging them to create powerful synergies.
Clipped out
Miniclip, I find, tends to follow its flash game routes by having games that are simple to adopt and certainly have some depth. I reckon that Soccer Hero will grab more casual fans, looking for a quality arcade experience. But at the same time, I can’t see Soccer Hero nabbing the wider football-crazy audience that wants both in-depth stats and real player’s faces or real teams.
