- The Abandoned Planet is an upcoming point-and-click title from one-man dev Dexter Team Games
- It’s published by Snapbreak, who also published Boxes: Lost Fragments
- The game takes you to an alien world where you must attempt to find a way home
Publisher Snapbreak Games has unveiled the newest game joining their catalogue, with solo developer Jeremy Fryc of Dexter Team Games and his point-and-click adventure game The Abandoned Planet. Taking you to, well, an abandoned planet, you’ll find gorgeous 2D-pixel graphics and fiendish puzzles in this upcoming title for iOS and Android.
Described as a love letter to classic adventure games like Myst and Riven, as you might expect The Abandoned Planet sees you play as an astronaut tossed through a wormhole and landing on an isolated alien world. You’ll need to explore the vast landscape, discover what happened to the planet’s disappeared inhabitants and hopefully find a way home.
The Abandoned Planet is fully voiced, and is set to release on November 5th for the iOS App Store and Google Play, with pre-orders now open! You may remember publisher Snapbreak for previous games like Boxes: Lost Fragments.
Pixel me up
I do like the look of The Abandoned Planet, especially because I’m somewhat fond of older school point-and-click adventure games. I like the addition of certain oddities like the silhouetted pixel animation and the unusual setting of a distant planet. Given how Snapbreak has offered such great fare on mobile in the past, I’m hopeful Dexter Team Games’ venture lives up to expectations!
