A new studio has bounded out of stealth (i.e. ‘not existing’) mode and announced their latest game. The suitably-titled MOTHER Games, founded by (no prizes for guessing) two mothers is working on their first mobile title with Le Zoo. And while details are a bit scant, there’s definitely some intriguing information already out there.
In between a lot of information about the mission behind this game, we have an intriguing title. Le Zoo allows players to explore a multi-tiered theme park packed with attractions, neighbourhoods and a variety of surreal characters. It’s supposed to include emergent mechanics and a 3D open world, as well as an “ever-evolving storyline” that has me tempted to think of live service.
Again, while MOTHER Games has come out of the gate talking about what the game will do in terms of resonating with players, I’m more here to report on what it will have in terms of concrete features. And just a glance at early-access information on the game’s site (where you can sign up to receive further updates) indicates it might be quite the surreal thrill ride.
While it was a little difficult to unpack, initially, what Le Zoo was all about, once you do it sounds quite intriguing. The fact that this is apparently going to be a constantly evolving thing definitely piques my interest, although it is a very difficult genre to get right at the best of times.
