It’s a rare situation when someone says Louisiana has a rude anything. That’s because the state is notorious for having mad Southern charm and fun-loving hospitality. That fact remains true. However, every state has drivers noted as being more aggressive than normal.
This appears to be the case in Metairie, LA, according to a study by auto insurance comparison platform, Insurify. The American Insurance Company compares auto insurance rates based on customer reviews and experiences of about four million car insurance applications.
These applications are gold mines for companies like Insurify because they contain real-time customer feedback on their experiences with the nation’s leading car insurance companies. They also disclose the city and state driving violation records specifically looking into the number of failures to yield, failure to stop, improper backing, passing where prohibited, tailgating, street racing, and hit-and-runs violations.
Armed with this analysis, Insurify can help its customers get the best auto insurance policies to fit their lifestyle at the cheapest rates. They also get a good picture of where all the bad drivers are from state to state. Sorry Metairie, but Insurify dropped your city with having the “rudest” drivers in Louisiana.
Per Insurify’s website, they cited that “across the 869 U.S. cities surveyed, on average, 22.65 out of every 1,000 drivers have been cited for one or more “rude” infractions.”
What Is Insurify’s Definition Of Rude Driving?
Rude drivers have one or more infractions on their records:
- Failure to yield.

- Failure to stop.
- Tailgating
- Hit-and-run
- Street racing.
