Hey there, welcome to our latest Pocket Gamer Weekend Wrapp.
This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

Last week’s Last Cloudia adventure didn’t go too well – I spent a day and a half trying to recover my old account details only to realise that, once I finally got in, I couldn’t remember a single thing about the game anymore. Not only did I forget about all the missions I was apparently doing halfway through, but I also couldn’t catch up despite the returner bonuses. Alas – this is what happens to quitters!
Of course, because I’ve learned nothing, I’ve decided to pick up my old Ghost of Tsushima playthrough again (I keep stopping here and there) given how Jin Sakai is in Amazon’s new Secret Level show. As for whether or not I’ll struggle with the controls given my tennis elbows, we’ll just have to see next week…

Monster Hunter Now Season Three is out now and with it comes a bunch of new weapons and armour. That’s not just because they’ve added in the Heavy Bowgun, but because they’ve added in three new monsters: Aknosom, Magnamalo and Rajang. Nightshade Paolumu also returns, which is great as I’d not fought many of them the first time around, and I need some of their parts for gear.
This is great news for cool armours (Rajang’s armour looks fantastic), but not great for my SECRET MONSTER HUNTER NOW MISSION which was to build every available weapon and every armour and have them all out of white, green and blue rarity levels. Three new monsters means, fifteen new armour pieces and – at a guess – about thirty new weapons. As such, I’ll definitely be spending a large part of this weekend playing MHN (including while I’m off out doing PoGo community day).
Outside of mobile gaming, I’ve a few PC demos that I want to spend some more time with: Holstin, Wilmot Works It Out and Camper Van, and beyond that we’ll just have to see where the weekend takes me.

I’m taking a break from the seven seas this week to stroll about on terra firm. In real life! Why? You might reasonably ask. Well, because it’s a Community Day in Pokemon Go! Every Go-er enjoys these events for different reasons. Some want to try and find a perfect version of the specific Pokemon, while others want to get dozens of Shinys. I’m more in the latter camp, although I only want one – it feels less special if you have 60 Shiny Litwick knocking around.
This Saturday’s Community Day centres around Ponyta, and that’s great for two reasons. The first is that Ponyta is a top-tier Pokemon. Who doesn’t like the idea of a firey horse? The second, arguably more crucial, reason is that it’s a chance to get two Shinys because Galarian Pontya will also be galloping about. Double prizes are always great, right? Alas, not for me this week. I’ll only be hunting for the blue flame Kantonian Ponyta since I happened to catch the cotton candy variant already. I guess it bolted from the stable a few days early, not that I’m complaining.

After being sick and unable to hold my phone steady for the past few days (insert crying emoji here), I am hoping that by the weekend I will have time to get back to playing. I had a couple of tasks relating to a game that is near and dear to my heart, Stardew Valley, and I look forward to getting back on the farm and relaxing.
I also just started playing Cat Fantasy, with the new event they released, everyone gets a free SSR combatant. My aim is to level her up and work her into my team since I have been pretty unlucky with the summons. Oh, the life of a gacha lover. Oh, and if you do decide to play, I also made a tier list for the game!

Despite claiming myself as a “hardcore” gamer, I have been totally enraptured with the recently launched match-3 game Monster Hunter Puzzles. I’ve always been a huge Monster Hunter fan, and while this isn’t the normal gameplay expected from the series, I can’t help but smile at my phone at all my Palico buddies making their own island paradise.
On the non-mobile end, I’ve been finishing up my playthrough of Persona 3 Reload after months of putting it off to prepare for the DLC that just launched as well as the new Atlus game Metaphor: Re Fantazio that launches in about a month so I can lose another 200 hours of my life to that one.

It’s starting to look like we are all into Pokemon Go at Pocket Gamer, because I am also playing Pokemon Go (as a community ambassador, running events on both Saturday and Sunday in my town). Like Stephen and Dann, I’ll be playing it too! But, I’ve also downloaded Freshly Frosted, which I always thought I would make time for on PC, but never did.
Freshly Frosted is a cute, relaxing puzzle game where you are packaging up brightly colored donuts through building conveyor belts. Specific donuts come from their starting areas and need to make their way to the specific end zones. Sometimes, you do need to use your belts to put them through things like frosting, to make them like the final product. I have a lot on this weekend, so quick, bite-sized puzzles that feel satisfying to solve is exactly what I need.
