- Fate Trigger: The Novita is the newest game from Saroasis Studios
- It’s a mixture of ARPG and battle royale
- Coming in 2025, what’s this bold mix of PUBG Mobile and Genshin Impact got to offer?
When it comes to creating new games, one tried and true method is to take two types of seemingly contrasting genres and blend them together, whether that’s in style and aesthetics or gameplay mechanics. But the latest from Saroasis Studios, Fate Trigger: The Novita, takes a bold step by mixing animesque RPG and tactical run ‘n’ gun battle royales.
Yes, this is Genshin Impact blended in with PUBG Mobile as you take to the skies in a world that’s now divided into many floating islands. Threatened by a spreading disaster called the Paleblight, these various floating islands become the battleground (pun intended) for a wide cast of anime heroines to duke it out.
Of course, this isn’t simply putting the two together aesthetically and calling it a day. Instead, Fate Trigger promises that each character will have unique abilities, while also wielding realistic tactical weaponry. The floating island thing isn’t a gimmick either, as verticality is being marketed as a key feature of this game’s map.

Fate Trigger’s closed alpha is set to debut on September 25th, while the full game will hit storefronts sometime in 2025. I’m intrigued by this, if only because it really is an example of trying to hit all the points that are popular at the minute. Will it manage to stand out, or is it more of a flash in the pan from the aesthetics? We’ll have to wait and see.
