Auto enthusiasts and vehicles showed up by the thousands during family day in Windsor for Stellantis employees Sunday.
Ricky St. Onge, whose organization Cars and Coffee organized the event, estimated that about 2,000 cars were on display as Stellantis employees and families wandered along Chrysler Centre beside the giant Windsor Assembly Plant.
Cars and Coffee began after COVID-19 restrictions were eased to get people out and socializing again, said St. Onge. Now it organizes several charity events each year.

A trend that has shown up in auto shows is fewer classic cars, St. Onge said.
“I love the classic cars. You don’t really see too many of them anymore. They’re slowly disappearing, which is a shame. I just love hearing the stories. I’ve heard people (say they’ve) had them since it was first made.”
People who worked on restoring old cars during and after COVID-19 found it helps their mental health, St. Onge said.
“People have come to me and said this has helped with their depression, helped with getting to interact with the community after everything shut down during COVID.”
