Jamie xx is joined by The xx bandmates Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft for new song ‘Waited All Night’.
The producer’s new album ‘In Waves’ is out on September 20th via Young, with a string of previews paving his path.
Out now, club-focussed ‘Waited All Night’ is the final preview, and it’s a surging piece of electronic world-building.
As a bonus, ‘Waited All Night’ features some familiar faces – yep, he’s putting the gang back together. The song represents the first time all three members of The xx have appeared in one place since 2017’s ‘I See You’, although each have popped up on one another’s solo efforts.
“Thank you to my two best friends and musical siblings, Oliver and Romy,” Jamie xx says in a press statement. “It’s wonderful to have the gang back together, working in new ways, working out new lives; I wouldn’t be here without them.”
Romy and Sim add: “We’ve loved collaborating on our recent solo projects, but it’s been a while since the three of us came together on one track. We’re so pleased that this was the place we met up again. Proud to play a small part in this long awaited, brilliant album. We’re your biggest fans, Jamie!”
