The upcoming 10th edition of Magnetic Fields Festival – taking place between Dec. 6 and Dec. 8, 2024 in Alsisar, Rajasthan – will host the likes of Ecuadorian producer Nicola Cruz, German-Italian composer and performer David August, DJ-producer Midland, a showcase by top labels like Hyperdub with Kode9 and Scratchclart, the label Rhythm Section with founder Bradley Zero and more.
DJs such as Jane Fitz, London’s Ahadadream aka Ahad Elley, Peruvian DJ-producer Sofia Kourtesis, Ghana-born DJ-producer Yazzus, experimental/techno/house artist Tom VR, Paris duo Ko Shin Moon, Vienna band Takeshi’s Cashew, psychedelic funk-disco act Cousin Kula and more are also on the lineup across stages.
Indian-origin artists turning up to the festival include New York guitarist-composer Shubh Saran, DJ-producer Nikki Nair (also coming in from New York), plus DJ-producers from around the work including Berlin duo The Ghost, U.S.-origin, Germany-based artist Gene on Earth traveling to Alsisar.
Magnetic Fields’ annual commissioned collaborative residency Fieldlines will bring together London-based dubstep DJ and producer V.I.V.E.K (performing a live set) with celebrated Rajasthani folk musicians like Alser Khan on the saranda, Kutla Khan (dholak and harmonium), Kambhra Khan (murli and algoza) and bapang players Mahmud and Yusuf Khan.
Indian artists like psychedelic band Dee En, R&B producer and multi-instrumentalist Tushar Mathur, electronic pop artist Sultan and producer Sid Vashi (debuting his new set titled Unreleased) will also perform, alongside an audio-visual set by producer Panelia, the alter ego of artist Jay Pei.
Opening the festival on Dec. 6 at the Ray-Ban Desert Oasis stage will be the diverse sonic stylings of Delhi-based crate digger Digging in India & Friends comprising Hong Kong-based DJ, promoter, and community organizer Ani Phoebe and Chicago-based producer Lapgan.
Over at the BudxYard, London-born DJ Jane Fitz joins the likes of Jay Carder, plus Seattle-raised, NYC-based artist Livwutang are slated to perform. At the Peacock Club stage, Kolkata-based label Social Isolation & Friends bring an ambient and experimental showcase featuring producers Catatacat, Sacred Seeds, Pardafash, Masta Justy, Songs for a Tired City and Kaldi Moss.
A big draw at the festival remains the Corona Sundowner stage, featuring a brand new live show by Delhi-based electronica producer Sublime Sound, producer duo Killzen, Portuguese composer-DJ Caroline Lethô, Delhi/Goa artist Flux Vortex and the debut of Delhi-based downtempo producer SYEYL – Space in Between.
