The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society has hired another new interim executive director to oversee operations.
The organization announced Tuesday that Jessica Sartori steps into the position until October 11 while Rob Moroz, the humane society’s recently interim executive director, is away on vacation.
Moroz was hired in July to assume the role after the board, without explanation, terminated former executive director Melanie Coulter, who served as head of the humane society for 15 years.

In a recent social media post, the organization also announced that board chair Tammy Williams and vice-chair Andrew Telford-Keogh were stepping down from their leadership roles, but would stay on as board members until a “special general meeting” on Oct. 4.
“We appreciate their contributions during this transition period and wish them success in their future endeavors,” read the post.
“In light of these changes, the WECHS board has elected Matthew Carlini, our outgoing treasurer, as the new chair and Jason Pfaff as the new vice chair. We are also happy to announce the appointment of Alexandra Passa as the new treasurer.”
At the Oct. 4 meeting, society members will discuss a proposed updated set of bylaws required for compliance with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.
The organization said the proposed bylaws were drafted, recommended, and then presented to the board of directors in the spring.
“These updated bylaws now are ready to be presented to the membership,” the board said in a news release. “Eligible members are encouraged to attend this important meeting to discuss and vote on this key issue that will shape the future of our organization.”
