One man was arrested after trying to flee from police in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood on Wednesday night.
Around 10:40 p.m., officers leaving an unrelated call noticed a suspicious vehicle near the intersection at 22nd Street West and Witney Avenue, city police said in a news release on Thursday.
The vehicle had “previously been reported to have a stolen licence plate,” police said.

Officers tried a high-risk traffic stop, but the vehicle sped off, heading east. It stopped in an alley near Avenue H North and the driver fled on foot, the release said.
A police dog was sent out and succeeded in helping officers catch the suspect.
The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with evading police, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, possession of ammunition while prohibited and possession of stolen property under $5,000. Police also learned he was unlawfully at large on a Canada-wide warrant, the release said.
He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the dog, the release stated.
