A member of the Postmedia Network Canada Corp. board of directors will be stepping down to pursue a political career.
Vince Gasparro, a director since February 2021, was recently acclaimed as nominee for the Ontario Liberal Party in the electoral district of Eglinton-Lawrence in Toronto. The riding’s formal nomination meeting is set for Oct. 15.
The next provincial election is tentatively slated for June 2026, but could take place sooner.

Postmedia has not announced the precise date of Gasparro’s departure.
“It has been an honour for me to try to help preserve good, quality journalism,” Gasparro said of his time on the board.
Postmedia president and chief executive Andrew MacLeod said Gasparro’s ability to see issues from multiple perspectives, combined with “a terrific combination of financial acumen and executive decision-making” will serve him well as a political representative.
“He’s an exceptional individual, he’s an exceptional director for Postmedia and I wish him great success and all the best,” MacLeod said.
MacLeod noted that he felt it was important to bring a liberal voice to the table when Gasparro was appointed to help ensure the national media company has a variety of perspectives on its board, and that he hopes that a future replacement, if any, will do the same. Gasparro has a bachelor of arts from York University, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a master of business administration from the Villanova School of Business in Philadelphia.
Outside of Postmedia, he currently serves on the boards of the Canada Infrastructure Bank and the World Wildlife Fund Canada and he is senior advisor and independent member of the investment committee at AgriRoots Private Credit Fund. He previously held the position of managing director and head of sustainable finance at Roynat Capital, a Scotiabank subsidiary, and was managing director of clean energy finance at Vancity Community Investment Bank.
