Singer-songwriter Gajendra Verma will release a genre-hopping new album Good Vibes Only in the coming months, ahead of embarking on a 10-city India tour starting Nov. 16, 2024 in Mumbai.
Described as a “feel-good album comprising stunning music videos,” the project is also described in a press release as a comeback for Verma after a reported “two-year hiatus.” It was indeed in 2022 that Verma released “Maar Sutteya” with American rap-rock band Flipsyde but he’s making up for lost time. The first two songs off the album – the shimmering Punjabi track “Enna Yaad” and groovy pop tune “Udantashtari” – were released on Sept. 18.
The album Good Vibes Only traverses pop, R&B, funk, and synthwave, “delivering a sound that is both innovative and reminiscent of the past,” the press release adds. It also mentions, “Each track in this album presents a unique perspective on contemporary pop music, enriched with nostalgic undertones and modern beats.”
Verma, who recently re-uploaded his 2019 collection of songs Flip, says in a statement, “I am beyond thrilled to announce my brand new album, Good Vibes Only. This project is a heartfelt journey, featuring tracks that beautifully blend pop, R&B, funk, and synthwave. With vibrant music videos to accompany it, I hope to take you on a nostalgic yet fresh musical experience. Let’s spread those good vibes together!”
Verma’s Good Vibes Only Tour takes place in tandem, running from November 2024 to February 2025. Intended as a 10-city tour, the cities and dates announced so far include Mumbai (Nov. 16), Pune (Nov. 23), Delhi NCR (Nov. 30), Hyderabad (Dec. 7) and Bengaluru (Dec. 14). Verma is also scheduled to stop by Goa, Jaipur, Indore, Raipur and Lucknow as part of the full Good Vibes Only Tour, describing the run of shows as a “music joyride.”
Good Vibes Only is backed via music distribution and promotion platform DroomMusic, led by entrepreneurs Vikram Singh and Preet Singh Bhullar.
