What time does the Brownlow Medal count start?
The official proceedings will begin tonight at 8:00pm AEST.
We should have a winner confirmed at about 10.30pm AEST, while a few other awards — including mark and goal of the year — will be announced along the way.
Will tonight belong to Nick Daicos?
This 21-year-old Collingwood superstar is one of the hottest favourites to take home the Brownlow tonight, in what is only his third season in the AFL. In fact he probably would have won it last year had he not lost the last few weeks of the season to injury.
He and partner Arlette are on their way, and will need to get used to the camera’s glare this evening.
Just here for the red carpet? We got you
The early arrivals are making their way down the red carpet, including Australian sporting power couple Adam Treloar and Kim Ravaillion here.
Footy’s night of nights — the Brownlow Medal is here
Good evening, and welcome back to ABC Sport’s live blog coverage of the 2024 AFL season. Tonight we don our frocks and tuxes and head practice our best “happy but humble” three-vote reactions, because the Brownlow Medal is set to be awarded again.
A close and unpredictable season is expected to feature a close and unpredictable Brownlow count, with many of the game’s biggest stars expected to contest at the top of the leaderboard.
Will Nick Daicos win his first Brownlow in season number three? Will the great Marcus Bontempelli finally break through? Could it be number three for Lachie Neale, or number two for Patrick Cripps?
All of the action from the count, plus plenty of build up and excitement from the red carpet, is coming your way in this here blog, so keep me company for the long night ahead.
